Kick-Off Event Details

We look forward to convening UC Irvine faculty and staff across all departments along with PK-12 regional school teachers to connect over climate, environmental, and sustainable efforts.

All attendees must pre-register for this in person event taking place at UCI in October 2023!

Important Notes: The exact date/time will be shared with participants via email upon receiving confirmation of registration. Priority will be given to UCI leaders, faculty, or staff who engage in research, projects, or initiatives related to climate change and/or the environment.

Directions from North of UCI

  1. Proceed South on 405 or 55 to the 73 South.

  2. Exit Bison Avenue off the 73 (Last exit before toll begins, so no need to pay)

  3. Turn left onto Bison Ave.

  4. Turn left onto California Ave.

  5. Follow road to 5301 California Ave. (on the right)

Directions from South of UCI

  1. Take 405 North

  2. Exit Culver Drive and turn left

  3. Turn right on Campus Drive

  4. Turn left on E. Peltason (on the other side it is called Berkeley)

  5. Turn left onto Bison Ave.

  6. Turn right onto California Ave.

  7. Follow road to 5301 California Ave. (on the right)

Parking

Once you turn on California Avenue, park in the lot and walk over to The Commons outdoor area.

Plenty of free parking is available and you will see tables at the outdoor event space.

Light refreshments will be available and we encourage attendees to bring their own reusable water bottles to help us reduce our footprint for the event.

  • Hear more about current campus grants and initiatives to get involved.

  • Participate in audio interviews to support the on-going Task Force project.

  • Engage in group activities to support interdisciplinary discussions.

  • Encourage cross-disciplinary projects and collaboration opportunities.

  • Connect with local PK-12 teachers for transdisciplinary projects and collaborations.

  • Build and or/sustain relationships with UCI faculty and staff across schools for potential partnerships.
