Another special highlight this year has been the growth of our intern program, with incredible contributions from students at
West LA College
and
UCI’s Campus as a Living Lab
. Their work has been integral in supporting ECCLPs initiatives.
We are also thrilled to spotlight
ECCLPs’
UC-CSU Internship
, made possible through the
eKadence Learning Foundation
. This inaugural and exclusive UC-CSU research internship program unites
UC and CSU campuses.
This unique internship is a transformative opportunity for students and a significant step in advancing climate and environmental literacy, while engaging with experts in the field.
The program has equipped over
120 undergraduate students
with the skills needed to conduct comprehensive research on climate change education efforts in California.
Undergraduates are learning how to conduct impactful research, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to climate change education in the state.
Six graduate mentors
are providing ongoing support to undergraduates, fostering their growth while also expanding their own professional networks with experts across UC-CSU campuses.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our interns and graduate mentors for their hard work. We would also like to extend our deepest thanks to all of the guest speakers who have volunteered to provide their invaluable insights during Fireside Chats in the program.
|
|
In this powerful Fireside Chat, "Formal and Informal Education: Improving Education and Tackling Important Issues," Jerry highlighted how informal learning environments, like aquariums and museums, can enhance both student and educator experiences, offering resources and opportunities that aren’t always available in traditional settings. 🌊🐠

|
We’re thrilled to have kicked off the ECCLPs UC-CSU Grad Mentor Research Internship Orientation Meeting! 🎉 These incredible mentors will play a key role in guiding the next generation of climate education undergrad researchers from across California’s UCs and CSUs. 🌱✨
|
|
This Fireside Chat featured Karen from Ten Strands, who shared her journey from advancing environmental literacy to championing climate change education in PK–12 schools. 🌎✨ She highlighted the game-changing role of partnerships, policy, and systems change. 🤝

Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to all our
organizational and institutional partners
. Your expertise, resources, and dedication to environmental and climate education have made our collective work possible. Together, we are advancing climate and environmental literacy through research, teaching, and community partnerships.
Thank you to our generous donors, including UCI Trustee
Stacey Nicholas and the
eKadence Learning Foundation, whose support have empowered us to expand our reach and impact. Your belief in our shared mission has enabled us to foster innovation and create meaningful opportunities for educators, students, and communities.
