NOAA Climate Literacy Guide Listening Session
We are thrilled to announce that the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) and
ECCLPs will be co-hosting a listening session on
May 30 from
4:00–5:30pm PST via Zoom to help inform version two of the
Climate Literacy Guide, essential climate science principles that individuals and communities of all ages should know. This listening session seeks to incorporate intersectional PK–16 approaches that center justice and agency in version two of the guide. Individuals across organizations and fields are encouraged to join!
West Los Angeles College's CA Center for Climate Change Education
On April 22 our partners atWest Los Angeles Collegehosted their grand opening ceremony for theirCA Center for Climate Change Education,
established through the passage of AB 1913 (Bryan, 2021). The center will serve as a climate change education resource for community colleges and will partner with local and regional agencies to support the expansion of green jobs.

Her fields of principal research interests are biogeochemistry, chemical oceanography, and paleoceanography.

A new executive order is requiring every federal agency to address the environmental inequalities and impacts of climate change on minority communities. Biden plans to create a
White House Office of Environmental Justiceto explore effective strategies to address these environmental and health disparities.
Invest in Climate Literacy, Justice, and Action
A gift to this UC–CSU initiative is an investment in the partnerships and strategies that will educate all of California’s high school graduates to be literate in climate and environmental justice issues and solutions.
